The Scratch Competition
This is played for the prestigious G. R. Thomson Shield and first competed for in 1948, is played over the second weekend in May every year at one of the member club’s courses on the basis of a five year rotation. 2024 was the 75th playing of the League and was hosted by Elgin Golf Club. The 2025 competition from 8th-11th May will be held at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club.
The Handicap League
The Handicap League, first played for in 1996, is also in a league format but spread over the months of May to August during which each club having two home and two away fixtures which are reversed the following season. The fifth and final series of matches are played at one venue on the same day. The final matches for the 2024 competition, Super Sunday,will be played on Sunday 25th August at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club.

Elgin Golf Club
Elgin Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the finest inland courses in the North of Scotland.
Measuring 6,496 yards with par of 71 this challenging course is a true test of players of any handicap.
Forres Golf Club
Designed by Open Championship winners James Braid and Willie Park
This delightful Par 70 course is just less than 6300 yards from the tips providing a good test for golfers of all abilities.
Hopeman Golf Club
Hopeman golf course is probably one of the most demanding links courses to play golf in Moray.
Most fairways are guarded by gorse and broom, adding additional challenges for players.
Moray Golf Club
The old course is considered to be one of the finest links courses in Scotland.
A classic links course with deep bunkers, undulating gorse lined fairways and smooth fast greens.
Nairn Golf Club
Founded in 1887 by Robert B Finlay, Nairn is consistently ranked amongst the leading courses in the UK.
The Club has been very fortunate to have held an array of amateur golf tournaments.
Nairn Dunbar Golf Club
Situated behind the rugged dunes of Nairn’s East Beach, this course offers an unrivalled golfing experience.
The course offers staggering views across the Moray Firth and beyond to the mountains of Sutherland.
